Read 2090 times
As a former Vice President at the Walt Disney Company, it's safe to say that Kimberly Hicks has been behind the scenes of where the magic happens. While at Disney, she was responsible for implementing Design thinking processes at the division Product, Games & Interactive for Disney Television’s Entertainment & Kids brands.
Kimberly Hicks has harnessed over 18 years of knowledge in product development with previous positions at companies like Viacom and Turner Broadcasting. After nearly 5 years at the Walt Disney Company, Kimberly recently joined Great minds – a company advocating for a more content-rich education for kids.
The reason for bringing Kimberly onboard is truly her passion for implementing Design thinking processes to solve problems and grow creative teams. In her years at Disney, she introduced Design Thinking into the organization. She has extensive experience on how product teams can leverage this creative problem-solving approach in their own work. The approach has changed Disney at its core with a large in-house team of UX designers.
At her current position at Great minds, that passion comes to use as well in the form of cultivating kids interested in STEM careers – meaning any job in the fields of science, technology, engineering, or math.
She was the initiator of Viacom’s partnership with Girls Who Code securing a long-term commitment to sponsor a Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program and a 4-year internship program for selected graduates of the summer program.
We are beyond excited to have Kimberly joining the line-up of speakers, and can't wait to hear more about her work with Design thinking at Disney!
